SSC VIRTUAL ACADEMY

While the 2020-2021 Concert Season was cancelled in person, the Chorale was able to continue to sing together and learn more about the choral art through a Virtual Academy.  Using the Zoom platform, the Chorale gathered together from September through March every Tuesday night on Zoom during their normal rehearsal time.

Each week was a new topic in the Virtual Academy.  We spent time strengthening our music theory skills, listening to new choral works, singing together, and interacting with composers and performers across the United States.  One of the highlights included a conversation with highly acclaimed composer Dan Forrest about his famous "Requiem for the Living."  In addition, we heard virtual performances from  two Fond du Lac natives: Jestin Pieper, a professional pianist from New York; and Brent Erstad, a professional organist from Washington D. C.  We concluded our season with a fabulous performance with three opera performers from southeast Wisconsin Erin Sura (soprano), Ryan White (baritone), and Lizzy Biermann (mezzo-soprano).

Below are some of the links to some of the sessions from our Virtual Academy from the 2020-2021 Concert Season.
