SSC BOARD OF DIRECTORS
JON B. GILLILAND | PRESIDENT | Jon is a retired School Administrator and currently works as an Adjunct Professor of Music Education at UW-Milwaukee. He is the Senior Choir Director at Salem United Methodist Church, member of Fond du Lac Symphonic Band Advisory Board, Immediate Past President Wisconsin School Music Association, and Wisconsin Foundation for Music Education. In his spare time Jon enjoys woodworking, gardening, bagpiping, and loafing.
GARVIN SHIELDS | VICE PRESIDENT | Garvin is a semi-retired photographer. He has had to pleasure of singing with South Shore Chorale since the first rehearsal in 1971. Garvin has served and continues to serve our community in many ways. Currently he sings in his church choir and even directs at times. He also plays in their brass group. Garvin enjoys music, gardening, biking, and collecting model cars.
KATIE PACHEFSKY | SECRETARY | Katie is busy being a stay at home Mom to two young children. Katie has loved to sing and dance all her life, and is delighted to share that passion with her two young children. She enjoys cooking and baking, family vacations, spending time with friends, and regular trips to Target. Katie graduated from UW Milwaukee in 2010, and worked as a Social Worker in child welfare for 5 years before starting a family. Katie has volunteered as a member of the charitable women's group SIGMA since 2012, and currently serves on the Lakeshore Elementary School PTO. Katie met her husband Brad in 2007, and was married in 2012.
WENDY JOHNSON | TREASURER | Wendy is a retired school business manager. In her retirement Wendy stays busy throughout the community. She works at the Just Fare Shoppe and volunteers for the Salvation Army as well as church activities. Wendy enjoys working on sudoku puzzles when she is not busy volunteering.
JULIE FRANCIS | Julie is a retired Christian Educator. She volunteers at the St. Agnes Hospital Gift Shop and as a rotary reader at Pier Elementary School. When not busy volunteering, Julie enjoys reading, gardening, making spaghetti and meatballs, and singing.
BILLIE GIESE | Billie is enjoying retired life by spending time with her grandchildren, singing, eating and volunteering. Billie enjoys puns and silly humor. She is involved with St. Matthews School and Church. Billie is always working on her musicianship. She is in awe of all of the talent within South Shore Chorale.
PAM LANE | Pam is a retired teacher. She mainly worked at the middle school level in West Bend and Ripon. Pam is currently a church organist and is active in the FDL Area Organist Association. She helps to organize the Summer Organ Recital Series. Besides singing in South Shore Pam and her husband Paul enjoy sailing, kayaking, and most any activity that involves a lake!
BOB MIKKELSEN | Bob grew up in small town in rural Nebraska. He was fortunate to have a great church choir director and great high school music teacher. His mother was the church organist and insisted he take piano lessons which he unfortunately hated. So Bob went to medical school, sold his French horn for books and disappeared into his work for decades. About 12 years ago Bob went to a South Shore concert , returned to glorious vocal music and made great new friends. Aside from inspiring Tuesday nights at rehearsal, he enjoys making furniture in his work shop, growing plants in his greenhouse and pretend farming on a little acreage west of town.
STEVE PAUTZ | Steve retired from Alliant Energy after working there for 41 years. He has been involved with SSC since 2010. Steve lives in North Fond du Lac. He married his childhood sweetheart, they raised a son together, and now enjoy spending time with their two grandchildren. Steve enjoys camping, grilling out, woodworking, and yardwork.
BEKKAH SHARP | When Bekkah is not attending school for Business Management you can find her Bartending at Red Cabin at Green Acres. Bekkah is hoping that being part of the South Shore Board is the first of many community involvements for her. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing piano, and crafting.
GARY SHARPE | Gary is a retired Fond du Lac County Circuit Court Judge. In his spare time Gary enjoys reading, recreational boating, spending time with his family, and visits to Mix it Up Bakery. Gary has served on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross, United Way, Fond du Lac Community Theatre, and the Fond du Lac School Board. Gary met his wife Gail when they were both cast in the FDL Community Theatre production of Godspell. He has three beautiful grown daughters and two delightful grandchildren.
PETE VERCOUTEREN | Pete is retired. In his retirement he enjoys fishing, golfing, and flying. Pete is involved in the Kiwanis Club of Fabulous Fond du Lac. Pete has been involved with instrumental and vocal music since grade school. He has been a member of church choir since high school and joined South Shore Chorale when it was the Fond du Lac Oratorio Chorus in 1979.
LIZ WUSTRACK | Liz is a cosmetologist at Renaissance Salon and Spa focusing on esthetics (skincare). In addition to serving on the SSC Board of Directors Liz also serves on the Fond du Lac Community Theatre Board of Directors. Liz loves the theatre. She has been involved in many recent Community Theatre productions as well as helping with hair and makeup for Fond du Lac High School productions. It is important to Liz to give back to the community she grew up in, and she is thankful to be able to do so. In her spare time Liz enjoys all things Disney, spending time with friends and family, and naps.
